This is the board that controls the backlight to the display and is usually the culprit of a dim display. This is an inverter board for the macbook 13. It took about 45 mins to get the new part in and the machine put back. Pry lose the clutch cover while the lid is open and then some more when it is closed to get it to pop off.

Replace inverter and then carefully replace the clutch cover in the reverse of before. It was a pretty easy repair following all of the steps. This product has new and used options.
